Just over the mountain pass from Seattle (about a two-hour drive), the Sunland Estates sit at the shimmering doorstep of desert beauty, outdoor adventures and the Gorge Amphitheater, just a ?-minute drive away. Set up base here for your climbing expedition, Frenchman’s Coulee & Feather’s world-class routes are only minutes away.

Even better, the gloomy clouds of western Washington skip us right over—we get over 300 days of sun a year and only 6 inches of rain. That’s 34 inches less rain than Seattle (not that we’re counting).

BED & BATH

Talus Minor is the smaller of the two apartments at this duplex.

Larger groups, note that both properties can be rented together to sleep a total of 12 guests. Two bedrooms, two baths, two kitchens, two living areas and a shared garage with laundry are yours to enjoy if you rent both. Couples and multiple families love this compromise-free accommodation for both togetherness and privacy.

Or bring your group of up to 5 people to Talus Minor, which has one bedroom with two queen beds. An extra guest can claim the couch. The shared bath has a shower and all linens are provided.

LIVING & DINING

An open-concept living area includes a living area, full kitchen and a dining table for four. Kick off your shoes and watch TV or make use of the free WiFi. We designed Talus Minor to be a laid-back, budget-friendly home-base for your vacation outings, providing all the basics with no frills.

OUR LOCATION

Sunland Estates is a one-of-a-kind community incorporated into the unique geography of central Washington. It occupies a small outcropping between the Columbia River and dramatic basalt cliffs that rise overhead.

Most Sunland Estates properties belong to Seattle residents who spend their summers here, and only a few homes are available as vacation rentals—our duplex among that rare few.

As a guest, you can enjoy HOA perks like an Olympic-sized swimming pool with kid-approved water features, plus a community-only riverfront park with play structures, tennis & volleyball courts and picnic tables. Grab sandwich fixings from our local general store and pack a lunch to enjoy on the banks of the Columbia between swimming, playing and sunning.

Back at home, a grassy lawn is great for yard games and a path leads right to the sandy river beach. Want to bring a boat? There’s plenty of on-site boat parking and a two-boat launch at Sunland, too, that you’re free to use.
